BARCODE and COLOUR PROJECT

I have done my project on BARCODES, because I find the lines and the image itself looked interesting and it is an everyday life use that you will see on products when you are buying things and also scanning the barcodes at tills. I just want to know more about it of how it expresses and how it works.

I am specialising in Weave for this project and my tutors thought that I would do weave well since that I have made a bag from my previous project! I am very excited and very unique that I was suppose to do Print like the other guys, but I think that there is a shine or a special glow coming out of me like out of my shell.

I have produced some markmaking from the research I have gathered from products, cartons to computer research. Also, had research on Bridget Riley's Fragments collection for inspiration for my work to back up.
Here, I have done some samples off the Jacquard, it was absolutely fantastic and a great experience that I have ever learnt! I am beginning to love the Jacquard and loving Weave more.

I am going to work towards 2 Spring and Summer 2011 Men Bags for my final products with my own fabric samples! I have enjoyed weaving and I would be thinking of taking this further towards my final major project with fashion brief. I will add moodboard on here and also on my fashion page along with my fashion drawings and my 2 bags final outcome!

First Year - Second Semester Weave Work 'Fashion' (January - May 2009)

I have went to Leeds "Royal Armouries" Gallery to see the Armours and accessories there that it has been used in the World War decades before I was born. I have taken these inspiration from Japanese armour and little decorations of the armour and accessories into a repeat pattern. I really enjoyed the project, but wished that I could have done more better with my sketchbook, that I will have to do it in the future for a good publishment for my viewers one day of where I get my ideas from.

I have used the red and blue yarns because when I visited the Leeds "Royal Armouries" Gallery and I really like the red and blues together as  part of my samples and it is so much common with red and blue in fashion and reailty.

I have done the warp by myself, made it by hand and also threaded up the hand loom. I have found it very time consuming at first, but I really enjoyed everything for the technical side and I found it very challenging that I really want to challenge myself to test my instincts and myself to be unique and also not afraid of who I am.

First Year - Second Semester Knit Work 'Fashion' (January - May 2009)

This project was from different artists such as Barbara Hepworth, Wassily Kandisky and Henry Moore with abstract and simple shapes that I have taken from them for inspiration. I have produced my own samples with punch cards and machine knitted my samples that they look very interesting. Yellow, Greens that I have used for this project.

I learnt to do fairisle technique (a combination of two colours and knitted together at the same time) and made some fantastic patterns and shapes of my samples. I really found it easier than the first time that I have used the knitting machines which that was very strange and so unreal. It just that I am more into the advance side of techniques that it keeps me going; I added some extra yarn on the needles to add a feature of my sample. I really enjoyed it a lot.

First Year - Second Semester Print Work 'Fashion' (January - May 2009)

It was starting 2009 for the second semester of my first year work. The module was "Fashion Textiles" and my group started with Print! I experimented with Disperse Dye Printing, and I have done my project on MAGPIES and I also done some on Shiny things because they take something shiny and to look glamorous.
